Chapter 1

Opening Portals and Pathways

One reason for working with biographical development is to learn how to get to know your Self1 more intimately.

Knowledge of biographical development not only helps you to gain more understanding about your life so far, but also to become more conscious during processes of change which you continue to pass through in life.

Working consciously with your biography involves the observation of Portals through which you pass on your Pathways in life. This facilitates self-development.

A most significant aspect of working systematically with biographical development is to experience how states of consciousness change during each new phase of life.

In opening up this volume Chapters 2 to 5 first offer a sketch of some profound evolutionary and historical interrelationships involving i.a. Karma and Destiny, Time and Space, Cultures and Temples, Thresholds and Portals, Biographical Architecture and Archetypes.

You are warmly invited to freely contemplate this series of visual and verbal tableaus. The perspectives being shared are meant to lay out and extend the foundation for attaining knowledge of biographical development.

Please do exercise your own discretion, experience and responsibility to evaluate their spiritual scientific value; also by checking references to contemporary research.

In Chapters 6 to 10 practical issues connected with creating biographical documentation are introduced. When, how and why you document any biography becomes an inherent part of your own life experience.

As you work through Chapters 11 to 19 you will discover new biographical treasures, which were not accessible earlier, to integrate into your ‘Book of Life’2.

Biographæa is created in dedication to ...

Life Lines

Your Life Line encompasses the biographical Portals and Pathways through and along which you grow up, live life and mature.

On the way there are opportunities for practical expression, creative realisation and healing transformation of the predispositions and potential of the spirit-soul and physical constitution with which you came into this life.

Working with a Life Line deepens awareness for the unfolding biographical development of gifts, talents, skills, abilities, crafts, capacities, competence, expertise and faculties, which are expressions of your life achievements.3

You get to know your own person, to explore relationships, to recognise challenges and to find out how you handle them. Gradually you become the master of your destiny, through transmutation of consciousness in your soul.

The first step is to learn about how to document, and to accurately observe biographical development during the first 63 years of life.

There are many ways to organise time and space in order to document your Life Line. Some do it by attending a seminar or series of workshops. Working one-to-one with a professional can be an invaluable experience.

Biographæa is also designed so as to help you to get started by yourself.

You can also collaborate with a group of companions who accompany each other whilst working individually on their biographical development. The group meets regularly (e.g. monthly) over an agreed period of time, to share and review biographical experiences with each other.

As you engage with what is offered in this volume, you will find your own best way to work with the ‘tools’, ‘instruments’ and ‘applications’ described.

You can create a Life Line Design whilst gradually accumulating detailed biographical documentation along the way. You can also first collect and order your biographical material before proceeding to a Life Line Design.

Whichever way you choose to go, please make good use of the practical guidelines introduced in Chapters 6 to 9 to help you get started.

By taking responsibility for when, how and why I work with a Life Line I am clearing Time which is Past, I am opening Space for the Future ...

... I am creating Destiny in Freedom
